Wafa Bouaziz PhD, Head of Regulatory Affairs
Wafa Bouaziz is the Head of Regulatory Affairs at Orphix. She has broad experience in regulatory affairs specialising in strategic advice and consulting on regulatory, non-clinical and clinical aspects from early drug development to marketing authorisation. Wafa has applied her scientific and regulatory expertise to support a number of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and has worked with several European regulatory agencies. She is focused on accelerating medical innovation and on the commercialisation of innovative medical products to the global markets.
She is a scientist with a strong background in preclinical research possessing a PhD in cellular biology from Paris-Diderot University, Paris, France, where she has worked on the role of Wnt inhibitors in alleviating osteoarthritis. Wafa has received several scientific awards including the Expanscience Laboratories prize for the best French research in osteoarthritis in 2015. During her post-doctoral research, she worked on the role of adhesion molecules in the development and progression of skin cancer at the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Munich, Germany, and is the author of a number of peer-reviewed scientific publications.
